Pharmaceutical Botany Interns at the Herbarium

The Herbarium Museum is delighted to welcome three new interns, ready to contribute to the enhancement of its botanical collections with expertise and passion.

Francesca, Miriam, and Valeria—students of Pharmaceutical Botany—are currently carrying out part of their training internship at the Herbarium Museum, thanks to the support and initiative of Professors Daniela De Vita and Luca Santi. This experience offers them a valuable opportunity to integrate laboratory activities with hands-on work on museum collections.

During their time at the Herbarium Museum, the interns will be involved in the restoration of the Educational Herbarium of Pharmaceutical Botany (HBF), a collection of great scientific and educational value, previously reorganized thanks to the contribution of volunteer Alberto Ricci. Their work represents a crucial step toward the full recovery of the collection and its future digitization, with the aim of making it more accessible to both the scientific community and the wider public.

At the same time, the interns will also contribute to the preparation of new herbarium materials, which will become part of a modern collection of plants of pharmaceutical interest, designed for educational and outreach activities.

A warm welcome to Francesca, Miriam, and Valeria, key participants in a training journey that brings together research, conservation, and the dissemination of botanical heritage!
