The Sapienza Herbarium houses multiple collections, acquired over time through collections of the institute/department staff, purchases or donations of private collections, and exchanges with other institutions. It also contains numerous type specimens and specimens that have been the subject of genomic studies.
Precise rules regulate the consultation of the exsiccata: only the staff working in the Herbarium is authorized to enter the internal rooms to collect the specimens requested by the users.
